Registration FAQs

Is there a registration fee?

AT HOME and ALL ACCESS registrations are now closed. Teddy Bear Fun Packs are no longer available. 

We are pleased to offer a limited number of Rundle Registration spots at $15 per person.

Rundle Registration includes access to the Teddy Bear Fun Fest-ival site at Rundle Park on May 7 for the return of our 5 km fun run/walk/roll. Rundle Registration includes access to on-site entertainment, activities and a complimentary lunch.

Best suited for those who live outside of the Edmonton area or who’d rather cele-BEAR-ate at home, enjoy access to a week’s worth of Teddy Bear FUN you can do from the comfort of your own backyard along with a Teddy Bear Fun Pack full of items to make the most of your week. 

*please note shipping is not included in your registration fee.

In addition to the return of our annual fun run/walk/roll, you’ll also enjoy on-site entertainment, activities, prizes and more – including a complimentary lunch at our teddy bear picnic! 

I have a family of four, how should I register us for this event?

To make the most of your Teddy Bear Fun Fest At Home experience, we recommend registering each family member separately. This will give each participant their own Teddy Bear Fun Pack and fundraising page to track their individual fundraising success and incentive prizes earned. 

For those participating in All Access, each member of your household must register to be able to attend the Teddy Bear Fun Fest-ival at Rundle Park. 

What’s included in a Teddy Bear Fun Pack?

Your Teddy Bear Fun Pack includes various physical items to enhance your Teddy Bear Fun Fest experience. One Teddy Bear Fun Pack will be included with each individual registration. We recommend one Teddy Bear Fun Pack per person – so make sure to register each participant separately. 

How do I get my Teddy Bear Fun Pack?

Join us at package pickup on April 27 or 28 at the Strathcona Community League. On-site pickup at Rundle Park on May 7 if you're not able to make it out package pickup.

You can pick up your friend or family's Teddy Bear Fun Packs, along with any T-shirt and teddy bear incentive prizes you may have earned.

 

WHEN: April 27 and 28, noon-7 p.m.

WHERE: Strathcona Community League - 10139 87 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB

Foundation representatives will be waiting at the concession stand ready to help you.

Can I participate if I don’t live in the Edmonton area?

Yes – the AT HOME registration option is perfect for you. We’re pleased to offer a shipping option to make sure you get your Teddy Bear Fun Pack in time for the event. Make sure you register by April 22 to guarantee delivery before the event begins.

When and where can I pick up my individual or teams' packages?

Package pickup will be at the Strathcona Community League (10139 87 Ave NW) during the following dates and times:

Wednesday, April 27   Noon - 7 p.m.
Thursday, April 28   Noon - 7 p.m.

What do I need to bring to pick up my individual or team package?

Please bring a piece of government issued photo ID. If you're picking up for your team, please have your team captain indicate this so your items can be packaged together. If you're picking up for a friend, please bring a copy of their confirmation email with you.

I can't make it to Rundle Park anymore, can I get a refund?

Registration fees and all money raised are non-refundable. If you're no longer able ot participate, you may transfer your spot to another participant. Please contact us at events2@stollerykids.com to make any changes.

Event FAQs

What activities can I expect throughout the week?

Stay tuned – we’ll be announcing our scheduled activities very soon! 

In addition to our scheduled activities, we’ll be emailing participants daily surprise sponsor challenges! For each day that participants join in on the surprise fun, our daily matching sponsor will donate up to $5,000 to support Stollery kids. 

Do I have to run at this event?

No, this event is for walkers, runners and rollers. We're pleased to offer a fully accessible route for participants of all ages and abilities.

Are there different route options?

There will be one 5 km route for all participants with a turnaround point available to reduce the route to approximately 2.5 km.

Is this a stroller-friendly event?

Yes, in addition to accommodating wheelchairs, the route is stroller friendly.

Can I bring my bicycle?

No, the event focus is on walking and running. No bikes will be allowed on the route, other than pacesetters who are appointed by the Foundation.

Can I bring my dog to the event?

No, please leave your pets at home (with the exception of service animals).

What's the schedule for this year's event?

9 a.m.   Activities start and Marketplace opens

10 a.m.  Race heats begin
    Runners 10 a.m.
    Walkers 10:15 a.m.
    Strollers/rollers 10:20 a.m.

11 a.m. Lunch supported by Lilydale

Can I support the event without participating?

Yes, you can donate to Teddy Bear Fun Fest as an event or to a specific participant/team.

Will there be any COVID-19 restrictions in place at the Teddy Bear Fun Fest-ival site?

Your health, safety and peace of mind are most important to us. We will continue to monitor this fluid situation and follow the lead of the Government of Alberta and our partners at Alberta Health Services to make sure everyone feels safe while having fun. Participants attending the Teddy Bear Fun Fest-ival site on May 7 agree to follow all health and safety measures in effect at the time, which may include but not be limited to, physical distancing, sanitation protocols, wearing masks, providing proof of vaccination status and/or providing proof of negative COVID-19 test. Fundraising FAQs

How are fundraising incentive prizes earned?

Fundraising incentives are a great way to encourage participants to rally support from their networks and raise much-needed funds in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital. 

Incentive prizing will be awarded based on the total amount raised per participant based on their individual participant page fundraising totals. 

T-shirt and teddy bear incentives are cumulative and can be earned in addition to higher incentive levels. Incentives over $250 are not cumulative and will be leveled-up and upgraded to the next incentive item. 

When will I get my incentives?

To reduce the cost of postage, T-shirt and/or teddy bear incentives will only be available when you receive your Teddy Bear Fun Pack. To ensure their timely arrival, our fundraising cut-off for these incentives is April 22. All other incentives will be mailed to you following the event. 

Fundraising will remain open until May 14 and all donations will count towards reaching incentive levels over $250.  

Is there a registration deadline?

AT HOME registration deadline is April 22 to ensure timely shipping of your Teddy Bear Fun Pack.

ALL ACCESS registration deadline is April 28 at noon to ensure you're able to pickup your Teddy Bear Fun Pack at package pickup on April 27 & 28.  

RUNDLE REGISTRATION (fun run/walk/roll only | no Teddy Bear Fun Pack included) will be open until midnight May 5.

Can I use Facebook to encourage others to join and/or donate?

You can easily share your personal or team fundraising page on Facebook or your preferred social platform with a simple click of a button. This is a quick and easy way to encourage your friends and family to get involved by making a donation or joining your team.  

How do donations support the Hospital?

Proceeds from this year’s Teddy Bear Fun Fest will help fund the best people, programs, research and much-needed specialized equipment to help the more than 276,000 patient visits at the Stollery each year.
