Walking for Winter

Winter spent her entire life at the Stollery. She was born premature at 26 weeks 3 days, and weighed just 1 lbs 2 oz. She was small, but she was mighty. From the time she was born, she was a fighter; the nurses would always comment on how feisty she would be with them, but they would also comment on her sweetness, and how well she would tolerate everything that came with being in the NICU. Winter was such a happy little baby, even with all that she went through, and her smile always brought joy to those who saw it. Winter tragically passed away, while still in the NICU, when she was 2 months old, and losing her has been the most devastating loss. It has been impossibly hard to navigate life without her, but we are striving to honour her memory, and find ways to put some good into the world for her and because of her. That's why we are walking, and raising money for the Children's Stollery Hospital Foundation in the hopes that Winter's life can impact and help future babies and children who need medical care, just like she did.

We're joining in the Teddy Bear FUN to help Stollery kids from my backyard!

We're participating in Teddy Bear Fun Fest on May 13, 2023 at Rundle Park. In addition to a 5 km fun run/walk/roll, I'm ready to enjoy a day full of FUN and FUNdraising in support of Stollery kids.

The Stollery is a cause that's near and dear to our hearts. With your support, we'll help kids from backyards across central and northern Alberta access some of the best physical and mental health care anywhere in the world - and have a ton of fun while we're doing it!
