Chu family is joining in the Teddy Bear FUN to help support world-class care for kids and families at the existing Stollery, while also bringing to life a new stand-alone Stollery for the future.

I’m participating in Teddy Bear Fun Fest on May 9, 2026, at Rundle Park. In addition to a 5 km fun run/walk/roll, I’m ready to enjoy a day full of FUN and FUNdaising in support of Stollery kids.

The Stollery is a cause that’s near and dear to my heart. With your support, we’ll help kids from backyards across Alberta – and beyond access world-class physical and mental health care – and have a ton of fun while we’re doing it!

You can help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation today. Your donation will not only support kids who need Stollery care today, but also help build a new, stand-alone Stollery designed specifically for kids and families for the future.

Held by The Stollery Team

Thursday 7th May
At 5 days with our newborn, Keeley,  she was unresponsive and the Stollery was our best bet to receiving immediate help. Being so young and fragile, she was top priority. The nurses and doctors worked together like a well-oiled machine, while keeping their calm, and being supportive to our emotional experience. They stabilized our baby girl, began the appropriate tests, and reassured us throughout the process. The most stressful night of our lives was supported and accompanied by their amazing emergency team. Filled with compassion, gentleness, professionalism, and appropriate humour.

We were then transferred to the Sturgeon NICU, as the Stollery didn't have space for us. However, we continued to receive incredible, loving care at the Sturgeon. The silver lining is that the 5 days in NICU was like a masterclass of how to care for our newborn, and we are grateful.

Our reality was the best case scenario. Nothing was truly wrong with Keeley. She was simply so small at 6 lb,1 oz that she needed to grow enough to have clear airways and receive aqdequate oxygen.

Experience  like this really opened our eyes to what the Stollery means for families across Alberta. When your child is sick, nothing else matters and you need the best team on your side, every step of the way. This cause is very close to our hearts as we wish for all families to receive the best possible care. Let's be there for the Stollery as they are there for our kids.
